Palio Arnense
June 12th/18rd 2023, Ripa (Perugia)

From over 20 years in Ripa is celebrated the Palio Arnense, the celebration of Saint Anthony Abbot. For the occasion the Palio is divided into the two ancient parish churches: della Pieve and Sant’Emiliano.
The Palio represents the ancient period of the Renaissance so people are dressed as Renaissance people and the streets return to be as they were in that period.
This event is done to thank the Saint for the good harvesting period.
The Renaissance costumes are realized by Perugian seamstresses.
The historical inn proposes local dishes that are similar to the Renaissance ones. These dishes are tasted by the historian Salvatore Pezzella and realized by the chef Mastro Alessandro Bovini.
One of the most beautiful things is the Ripa castle, an awesome castle of the XIIIth century.
