Goblets of Stars (Calici di Stelle) is a wine event held annually across Italy on the night of and the week leading up to the Feast of San Lorenzo, a night that is historically lit up with shooting stars.
Each year on the 10th of August, 'Goblets of Stars' is held in the historic centre of Torgiano; this summer event is promoted by Movimento Turismo del Vino e le Città del Vino which, celebrating Bacchus, in one of the most evocative nights of the year, offers visitors the possibility of enjoying 'the shower of St. Lawrence's tears' accompanied by quality wine. Under the falling stars, from 8.30 pm to midnight, visitors can taste the best wines of the wine cellars and the typical dishes proposed by the restaurants, Pro Loco and operators of the Umbrian Canticle Wine Route.
The falling stars strengthen the extraordinary union between wine and art, offering, alongside of the wine-tasting guided with masterly skill by able sommeliers, a rich series of initiatives. Wine and cultural offerings together with the magic of the territories under the stars make for a winning combination in a formula that unites the philosophy of good drink, shows, design and art.
