Collazzone - La Segreta

A little over ten years ago we launched La Segreta, a new venture set on a 70-acre nature preserve in the heart of Umbria. We started by restoring the rustic stone borgo that was already on the property. We invited our family, friends and clients to use the rental estate while exploring the region. Recently, we reinvented a historic farmhouse - a sophisticated mix of modern and traditional with every conceivable convenience - that was also on the property. Today, the La Segreta brand includes two luxury properties, a line of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and hand-blended red wine (created from the grapes grown on our land). This is La Segreta - the secret heart of Italy.

The FarmHouse
Set among tranquil cherry groves and rolling barley fields - and only a five-minute walk from the Villa - the meticulously renovated Farmhouse boasts a remarkable view of the medieval town of Piedicolle. Formerly home to local farmers who worked the surrounding land, this estate was often the meeting place for the annual battuto (beating of the grain). Today, our new rental property (which sleeps 4 + 1) offers every modern amenity while retaining the best of its original charm.

The Villa
A winding laneway framed by tall cypress trees leads to a traditional stone borgo we call the Villa - a meticulously restored estate that easily holds 8 + 2 guests. Inside, you will find stone fireplaces, terra cotta floors, handcrafted majolica tables and luxurious amenities throughout. Set on 70 acres of scenic Umbrian countryside, you can enjoy walks in the surrounding nature reserve - home to a variety of wildlife, including porcupines, pheasants, nightingales and wild boar. Wake in the morning to pick fresh figs, cherries, apricots, peaches and pomegranates to accompany your breakfast. At lunch, drizzle our own freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil - from our grove of 250 olive trees - over fresh focaccia from a nearby town. Relax in the warm waters of the infinity pool with spectacular views of the walled village of Piedicolle. This is part of La Segreta - the secret heart of Italy.
