Perugia - Cantina Goretti

The Goretti’s winery story comes from a family of four generations of wine producing, which continues to grow, extending out into the wine world, thanks to our pride, passion and high quality.
Our combination of tradition and modern experimentation are surrounded by the sweet rolling hills of Umbria, just outside Perugia; the Goretti Estate Winery extends its property around a 14th century tower, which today Is the winery hospitality centre.
The vineyards, situated in the Colli Perugini wine district, extend over a hilly, plentiful and sunny territory.  With an average altitude of 330 meters above sea level, this position is ideal for  superior wine growing. Our grape selection begins in the vineyard, where the lifespan of the grape is strictly controlled and continues in the winery, on the grading machine. Our aim in practicing this method, is to reach the highest quality and satisfy the expectations of our connoisseurs.
The harvest time depends on each grape variety, which are exclusively picked by hand. During the wine making process the temperature is always controlled and is different for each wine.
After the vinification the wines go through a delicate refining procedure, in order to reach the best degree of harmony and balance. The wine maturation takes place in stainless steel or wood receptacles, according to the wine; the cold bottling is absolutely sterile. The packaging and storing is done in air and water conditioned rooms.
At the Goretti Estate Winery, we welcome wine tourism. By appointment, we will be pleased to give a tour of the Colli Perugini vineyards, winery and taste a selection of wines accompanied by small samples of Umbrian specialities. Our wine tasting sessions are held in the 14 century estate tower which is  filled with antique furniture, and a replica bronze statue of L’Arringatore, for which our famed red wine is named after.
